It is such an honour that we were asked to capture Hattie and George's Wedding Day this year.
Hattie and George first met nearly 10 years ago in the library at Hewitt Secondary School, Norwich. After forming a close friendship Hattie then moved to Australia and it was during this time that absence made the heart grow fonder and the two realised there was more to their relationship. Luckily Hattie returned from Australia and the two became a couple. Hattie then ventured into a Social Policy and Crime degree at Leeds whilst George studied Computer Science at Aston University, Birmingham.
Before graduating, George couldn't resist popping the question and of all the proposal stories we have heard over the years this surely has to be one of the most creative and personal...with such a long time for the two become a couple Hattie often joked that George would only propose once in a blue moon, when dinosaurs roamed the earth again, when zombies rose and when pigs would fly. So on a weekend away George arranged for the hotel room to be decorated with toy dinosaurs, zombie cut outs and they enjoyed two blue moon beers together. If that wasn't a big enough clue for Hattie, George revealed his t-shirt of flying pigs and the words 'Will You Marry Me?' - well done George!
Hattie and George were very keen for us to visit them at George's family home in Norwich and have their engagement photo shoot in their garden. With their Wedding Reception taking place at The Unthank Arms in Norwich we instantly visioned a country garden feel to the day and having spent a sunny morning with the couple, we soon learnt that we all shared the same thoughts.
The garden was beautiful and George's father couldn't resist pointing out his favourite part of the garden, a brightly yellow and green shrub that the family called their Norwich City Football plant.
George's family dog Freddie couldn't resist photo bombing a few photographs!
Towards the end of the garden were George and his sisters old swing set - which as you can imagine, we couldn't resist asking George to revisit his childhood and have a go!
We look forward to capturing the couples big day in September at St Andrews Church, Lammas and The Unthank Arms, Norwich.
