Photography for the wedding of Tanya and Daniel was one of the most in advance bookings I have taken but with so much planning and little details to finalise, even when you think you have all the time in the world the big day can still quickly creep up on you. Having had a pre-wedding shoot at their venue a few months prior helped everything fall into place and I had a feeling then that everything was gong to be that extra little bit special.
With Emily away at another wedding (personal, not work - lucky girl) I asked the fantastic Katie Hayward to step in and second shoot for me - so whilst she set off for the venue to document Daniel and the guests arriving I made my way over to Tanya for the bridal prep. Always one of my favourite parts of the day, you can really feel the emotion building and start to build a good rapport with the family and friends you are going to be spending the day with.
It was then time to head over to Brasteds for a beautiful outdoor ceremony full of genuine emotion and heart-warming words. After, Daniel and Tanya retreated for a few quiet moments of reflection and a well deserved drink as their guests chatted and mingled in the glorious sunshine above (I may have even been heard to grumble it was a bit too hot) luckily there are plenty of shaded areas at Brasteds so I quickly whisked Daniel and Tanya off for a few solo photos and then gathered family and friends for the group photos. This included the use of a rather fantastic VW Camper Van!
Daniel and Tanya were an amazing couple to photograph and their willingness to try different locations and ideas combined with their sense of fun made the whole day a pleasure to be involved with.
As evening approached Katie set up for a make-shift photo-booth with props and a back drop provided by Daniel and Tanya - another benefit of having two photographers is one of us could stay and photograph this whilst not missing out on capturing evening guests as they arrived.
Finally, with the light dwindling it was time for a few last shots to capture the dramatic emerging sky and then head off into the night to leave the newly wed couple and their guests and family to drink, dance and celebrate into the night!
